Bloody hell :(

If we go with what England want and rest him until the AIs, he's with England for them, then surgery, then right back in for the 6N then we wouldn't see him until round 11

This is where the club/ country situation is ridiculous.

Does Ben have a say in any of this?
Erm.....given that it's his body, I would suggest that the decision is his.

Alternatively, given that he has a contract with RFU, maybe they own his body.

Seriously, though, I would expect that Ben has at least some say in how this proceeds. I am sure that he will have decided that he would rather go to Argentina than have the surgery then and be ready for the new season.

He was well overdue some increased England recognition so must have been desperate to go on that tour.

The article makes no reference to a players decision, only to what RFU want and Sale want.

If RFU medics say he can play, is he technically in breach of his contract with them by refusing to and opting for surgery? That's what I am referencing.

This is a no brainer to just get the surgery right? It's a suture where the muscle meets the bone which is causing CONSTANT irritation. Even says he can't prepare properly.

What good is waiting going to do for anyone? Surgery now, back mid autumn fit and firing.

Great news, completely the right call for all involved. Shame for us yes, but hopefully we have DDP and Vermeulen back imminently.

Vermeulen at the champions cup launch today, guessing that means he's out this weekend as otherwise he'd be training?

Didn't Alex rule him out of this week in the presser?
Yeah, just read that - DDP and JV close but not quite there, RMW back in contention
