I also smiled when I saw Buckley's name.

Only Sale could sign a prop who....couldn't scrum.....but he was massive so that made it alright.

Mind you as Dimes used to say - we were shopping at Aldi.....or Lidl - can't remember which

He picked up quite a mess thinking back- we had the era post our only Prem win....the kiwi bloke whose main achievement was making Hodgson leave the club.....Kingsley Jones.....I won't say anything about him.......

Was having a chat with another Sale fan about the genuine signings Sanderson has made that weren't done under the Dimes era. It wasn't a huge list really he thought about Ford, Van Rhyn and Jibulu . I quite like Louwe myself and would like to see more of him.

Found this via GPT in an interview about the Lions.

"Sale don't want me anymore because they're trying to spend more money in the pack," said Cohen, who joined the Sharks from French side Brive in 2009.

"I've got another couple of years left in me so I'll try to get a club in the Premiership. If not, I'll retire. So we'll just have to see what happens."

Cohen’s contract with the Edgeley Park outfit runs out at the end of the current campaign and the former Northampton star is clearly disappointed not to have been handed a new deal.

The move comes as new Sale boss Steve Diamond assesses his options having replaced Mike Brewer earlier this year.

Diamond has already made plenty of signings up front in the form of Munster prop Tony Buckley, Leeds youngster Kearnan Myall and Wasps hooker Joe Ward, and Cohen believes the emphasis on strengthening the pack has ultimately led to his departure.

"Sale don't want me anymore because they're trying to spend more money in the pack," added Cohen.

"I've played more than 50 games in one-and-a-half seasons at Sale and I play week in, week out.

"I'm a bit gutted that I'm given the push but that's life. You just have to take it on the chin."
Christ, and we bemoan recruitment now. Dimes was supposed to be a recruitment guru.

Tony Buckley is only remembered as the biggest let down in the history of everything. (Actually was run close by Brian Mujati, who ended up more interested in brewing beer than playing, after being exemplary at Saints). Can anyone remember a single detail about the other two?

Remember when we announced Kris Chesney and then a week later he was like "actually I've decided to stay at Toulon instead"

Thank you. Was trying to remember who that was. For some reason, I thought it was a Saffer baby-eating lock

Always liked Jones. Still young enough to bump his way back into the Prem - glad he's getting an opportunity (albeit short term) at Quins.
