Cornish Pirates statement: Survival 'down to the RFU'
“We certainly don’t intend to run out of funds with committed contracts in place á la certain other clubs who went under.
....
“So, it’s down to the RFU to provide a solid foundation on which new investors in this very famous rugby club can base their financial decisions.”
tl;dr : Prem2/Championship of 24-25 still up in the air. :dizzy:

I've always liked Pirates, but lost a lot of respect for them after that little snipe at the three teams. It's also a bit rich of them to say they don't intend to run out of funds when that's exactly what they're planning for by a. Only have 1 year contracts b. Having a break clause in all those contracts for Jan and c. Only having funds in place to last until Jan

They can blame the RFU all they want, but even if the champ/prem2 details were fully ironed out and ready to go I don't think they'd have a long line of investors eager to find them.

Championship clubs fear bankruptcy without fairer deal from RFU
[Edit: that's the Championship over for 23-24, we're now headed to the 24-25 season, and there won't be time, or viable entities for the 3 'brands' to join.]
In response, the RFU said it had been exploring all avenues in search of a solution. “For the past 15 months the RFU, Premiership Rugby Limited, Championship clubs and national leagues have been working hard to develop a redesigned Tier 2 with the aim of developing a whole-game solution to support the development of England Rugby.
Working hard you say?

Edit:

It seems the RFU, PRL and Championship have resolved their differences.
