Well that's news. Weird one if true. Would it be Quins who do this or an independent post match?

Watching Jibulu shaking hands with the Quins lads post match there was clearly no love lost. Dombrandt didn't even look at him.

Bloody hell, if true then deserves a long ban - really would leave us in the muck at hooker as well!

Surprised at no citing for the head on head on Asher tbh, looked bad live

Weirdly the citing hearing verdict is buried in this Guardian article about Courtney Lawes. Six week ban.

“The 23-year-old admitted he had committed an act of foul play that warranted a red card and escaped a 12-week ban after a disciplinary panel took into account his guilty plea, relative inexperience and previously clean record.“

Appalling, another blemish on our dreadful season. No mention of a club fine either.

EDIT- Now main story on Times and Telegraph rugby pages

What a complete idiot.....well at least we won't have to worry about his wayward darts for the rest of the season. Hope Mcelroy gets to start, he hasn't done much wrong in the few times he has been allowed to play

McElroy is apparently no longer at the club. Experience for the Academy coming up.

Surely the only possible mitigation for biting is if some idiot sticks their fingers in you mouth. Might be interesting to see the full verdict before properly condemning Jibs, but 6 weeks does seem a very light punishment. (I know it was 12 reduced) Pleading guilty to biting should not have an effect on the punishment.

I am sure that the TMO did take a look at the Asher head on head with Cunningham-South, but I didn't hear it mentioned at all over Ref communcations, and there was a decent break in play shortly after it. I'm not sure it was a terribly bad contact, but any head on head seems to attract a minimum of a yellow card these days. Unless any replays showed differently I would have accepted a penalty, but nothing at all seems odd. I'm not saying I wanted Cunningham-South punished (I, wierdly, enjoyed his try celebration, very fitting), but I can't remember the last time head on head contact seemed to be completely ignored.

It's only Leinster, we don't need a hooker, send all the Academy on, test our strength in depth.

McElroy is still on the Iffy, a sure sign he's gone.

For anyone interested Will Kelleher has posted some video on X purporting to show the incident.

Looks as if some mitigation was given due to his age. My 4 year old doesn't have any sort of mitigation if he decides to bite, not sure why a 23 year old professional player should.

Honestly the guy deserved a lot worse. Stupid stupid stupid.

Was just trying to see who would be next in line at hooker if McElroy has gone - forgot that Harry Thompson had left/gone to Ealing

Looks like it'd be Alfie Longstaff: one Prem cup appearance this season (13mins back in November), and then 3 bench appearances for Caldy (two last year, one last week - average 16min per appearance)

Why would we let McElroy go? Can't see logic there at all given the poor darts from Caine and Jibulu, Jibulu covering back row, and the fact he's signed to the end of the season anyway.

I feel for the guy if he's now out in the wilderness. I thought he always looked very good when playing for us.

Club statement

“ Nathan admitted to the offence and both the club and player agree that his actions were unacceptable. We are united in our belief that our players should always act as role models and that such behaviour has no place on a rugby pitch or in society.

The club will be conducting its own internal disciplinary process but we will continue to fully support Nathan through what has been, and will be, a difficult period.

“The club will be making no further comment on the matter.”

He's been a Sale FC 1st Team regular for at least the last couple of seasons.

Quick internet search reveals that Tadgh McElroy is still with the club.
I'll buy you a pint of Little Creatures the next time I'm in Perth if he plays at the weekend.
